This year the Chinese New year begins from 26 th Jan 2009. This is an year of the OX and the element is water.
The Chinese New Year is celebrated as the symbol of springs celebration. It is celebrated after the fall harvest and before the spring planting season. It varies every year. For determining the date of the new year some astrological calculations are taken into account. Also, The date of the new moon is taken as the first day of the new year.
There are twelve animals of Chinese Zodiac viz. Rat, Ox ,Tiger,Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat/Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig/Boar. Each corresponds a direction in the compass.
This year 2009 Is Ox year. Those born in this year are reliable, logical and trust worthy, but have low public relation skills. They are at times stubborn too.
As ox is slow therefore this year the work progress will be slow. The element being water is not very compatible with Ox therefore people will face problems this year. But this year in general will be better then the last year.

I wish all my friends a very very happy and prosperous NEW YEAR. May it bring happiness in your life. To bring happiness and prosperity as per Vastu one must always keep in mind these vastu tips.

1. The North east portion of your house must be kept light, if possible it should be kept empty, as it is the head of vastu purush. If heavy items are kept here then it brings tensions in the house. It is a place where photographs or picture of God should be kept. This should be made a place of worship.

2. Toilets should never be made in north east area. If there is a toilet then if possible it should not be used.

3. If anyone is having severe migraine pain or headaches then they should immediately check there north east area and keep it as per rules of vastu.

4. To bring happiness in relationships always energize your south west area.

5. To energize south west area it is good if u burn a candle every day in this area.

6. Keep heavy things in your south west area.

7. Master bedroom should be made in south west area only.This will bring harmony and happiness in the family.

So always keep in mind that noth east area of your house should be light and south west area of your house should be heavy.
